Privacy (for grown-ups)
Hearts Invention Lab is a digital invention app for kids. It is built so that we don't collect personal information from children. Last updated October 20, 2026.
What stays on your device
- The app saves the scientist name (we ask for a first name or nickname only), current and saved inventions, Season 1 progress, and a short lock timer for the parent gate.
- All of this is kept in your browser's local storage on your device. It is never sent to us, and we can't see it.
What we don't do
- No accounts and no sign-up for kids.
- No analytics, no ads, no trackers, no cookies.
- No third-party scripts, fonts or embedded content.
Hosting logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard technical request data (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We don't use these logs to identify or profile anyone, and we haven't turned on Cloudflare's web analytics. Cloudflare's own privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Feedback
The Feedback button sits behind a grown-up check. It doesn't use a form on our server. It opens your own email app with a note ready to send. If you send it, the message exists only in your own email and in our inbox at [email protected]. We use it only to improve the app and reply if you asked us to, and we delete it once it's handled. Please don't include a child's personal information.
Links to other websites
Links that leave the app (for example to the BioTech Encyclopedia or the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office) sit behind a grown-up check. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Clearing data
Tap "Clear my data" at the bottom of the app. After a grown-up check and a confirm step, it removes everything the app saved on this device. Clearing your browser's site data does the same.
The future Lab plan
A paid Lab plan (monthly or yearly) is coming later. Nothing is charged today. When it opens, a parent or guardian will be the one to sign up and pay, and we will update this page first.
